ANIONIC SURFACTANTS (CLEANING AGENTS)

Anionic surfatants contain anionic functional groups at their head, such as sulfonate, phosphate, sulfate and carboxylates. Many of these find utilization in emulsion polymerization. Other anionic surfatant include dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate (DOSS), linear alkylbenzene sulfonates (LABs) and alkyl-aryl ether phosphates.

Frequently Asked Questions About Surfactants

Find answers to common questions about our products and services

Surfactants (surface-active agents) are compounds that reduce surface tension between two liquids or between a liquid and a solid. They have both hydrophilic (water-loving) and hydrophobic (water-repelling) parts, allowing them to act as emulsifiers, detergents, wetting agents, and dispersants.

Non-ionic surfactants have no charge and are compatible with all other surfactant types. Anionic surfactants have a negative charge and are excellent for cleaning. Cationic surfactants have a positive charge and are used for conditioning and antimicrobial applications. Amphoteric surfactants can have both positive and negative charges depending on pH, making them versatile and mild.

The best surfactant depends on your specific application, pH requirements, compatibility with other ingredients, and desired properties. Our technical team can help you select the right surfactant based on your formulation needs. Contact us for personalized recommendations.
