Reaction of stoichiometrically equal amounts of methylamine and formaldehyde produces hexahydro-1,3,5-tris(methyl)-s-triazine or MMA (Mono Methylamine) triazine. It finds use as scavenger of H2S gas and mercaptans in gaseous or liquid hydrocarbon streams.
